Rihanna will receive this important Michael Jackson award.

Rihanna has to be one of the greatest Rn’B and Pop artistes of our time, that’s why she will be awarded the Michael Jackson’s Vanguard award at the MTV Video Music Awards. Although some critics are saying it was not well deserved, forgetting some of her biggest milestones.

Rihanna has broken some of the records that some considered unbreakable. Her career keeps getting better and better every time she presents herself. She is consistent and all round persistent. RiRi is rich, powerful and talented. She is among the few people who are impossible to hate, but obviously fame comes packed with its share of criticism.

She confirmed the news through Twitter by tweeting;

With the song entering the UK Singles Chart at number one, Rihanna joined Elvis Presley and The Beatles as just one of three acts to have scored a number one single each year over seven consecutive years in the chart’s history.
11. The third most number ones in the chart’s 55-year history
“The Monster” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, which marked Rihanna’s thirteenth chart topper, tying her with Michael Jackson for the third most number ones in the chart’s 55-year history.
